Folk Opera The Transports links with Derby City of Sanctuary

 

A sell-out production of the folk ballad about the forced transportation to Australia of those convicted of minor offences, was linked to todays refugee experiences. It included the journey of a Syrian refugee now living in Derby, who was present on our City of Sanctuary stall to meet the cast after the event.

After the show the cast met with a refugee whose journey was featured in the performance
