Our City of Sanctuary meeting last Wednesday started with a presentation by our Chair, Joseph Chivayo, of awards to our six Sanctuary Specialists for their work in delivering training to a wide group of organisations in Derby, including schools, museum, a Doctor’s surgery, churches, an ice-cream parlour and several theatre groups. This was made possible through the Guardian funded project that we undertook. Here’s a few of those presentations.

It is said, "Nothing ever happens in Derby!" We all know that's not true! Our local Derby City of Sanctuary group met on Wednesday to share what is happening in the city, to discuss plans for refugee week and other upcoming events. We also celebrated the valuable input of some of our City of Sanctuary Specialists who have been delivering refugee and asylum seeker awareness training all around Derby over the last year.
