Hello Derby 2026 – Celebrating Courage for Refugee Week

Join us for Hello Derby 2026, a free and vibrant celebration of community, culture, and courage as part of Refugee Week 2026. Taking place on Saturday 20th June, 11am–3pm at Derby Market Hall, this year’s event promises to be our biggest and most inspiring yet.

Embracing this year’s theme of Courage, Hello Derby will shine a light on the strength, resilience, and creativity of people seeking refuge, while also celebrating the allies and organisations who stand alongside them. We’ll be using the Market Hall for the first time ever, dedicating the space to exhibitions from refugee artists, community groups, and partner organisations working across the city.

Expect an eclectic and welcoming atmosphere filled with live music, dance workshops, poetry and spoken word, meaningful conversations, cultural dress, and delicious food and drink tasters from around the world. Each element of the day reflects the rich contributions refugees bring to life in Derby, and it will be fun for all the family.

At its heart, Hello Derby is about connection—bringing people together to share stories, challenge misconceptions, and highlight a more hopeful and human perspective than often seen in the media. Whether you’re returning or joining us for the first time, this is a space to learn, celebrate, and stand in solidarity.

Save the date and be part of something special.
